My research focuses on understanding how wildlife physiology and behavior are associated with environmental variability and has directly resulted in conservation measures with the establishment of the Papagayo Marine Responsible Fishing Area. In my research I use a variety of methods including stable isotope analysis, endocrinology, metabolomics, and spatial analysis to investigate questions relating to wildlife response to dynamic habitat parameters; specifically, ocean currents, ambient temperature, prescribed burning, and foraging resources. Although I have focused much of my research on endangered sea turtles, these techniques have wide application throughout wildlife biology and provide a framework to analyze how ecosystem-organism dynamics have and will change due to climate change. My pronouns are she/her/hers.
